In VGA graphics mode you then get 16x8 pixel chars, 80x30[2] of them filling 640x480 pixel screen. [1] This is why multiple of the "chequered flag" >128 character next to each other look so funny (either every 8th pixel duplicated, or vertical space after every 8 pixels, depending on your video card). [2] You may also want to look at using the 80x30 mode, as it gives 5 more lines. 80x50 text is usually too squashed, making art distorted. > We will use ASCII 32..127, and mabe some other special characters >127, we > will deside later Only with <128 is it an ASCII-OS, else it is an PC473-OS. :-) > .------------------------. > | AsciiCommander [X]| > |------------------------| > |File|Command|Help | > |------------------------| > |C:\union\src\>_ | > | | > |________________________| > |files 152 | > '------------------------' Botton left corner change to: ` character. > .-----------------------------------------. > '-----------------------------------------' Tip: leave away the 2 lines, just split with |, looks more elegant: [START] | I Sys | ACmd | | I 09:00 And you have 2 lines more for user data. Same you may want to make an Mac-like one-line menu at the top of the screen. Or at least drop the bar beween the title and the menu. Dito the bar above the status line can be saved. -- Neil Franklin, neil@franklin.ch.remove http://neil.franklin.ch/ Hacker, Unix Guru, El Eng HTL/BSc, Sysadmin, Archer, Roleplayer - Intellectual Property is Intellectual Robbery
