If a person uses a program other than mspaint, to draw, does that make them a 'BAD' computer-graphics artist? Does using a program such as 'paintshop' or 'micrografx picture publisher' to do effects such as embossing, smoothing, motion blur, posterising......etc.... make them a 'BAD' artist? Jave and other such programs are the evolution of ASCII art programs. Sure notepad will let you create an ascii art, but mspaint will let you draw a picture of [anything], But these other programs grant the use of better tools to create better pictures quicker (or for a beginner to pick up the skills quicker). Using tools isn't bad. do you use a fridge to keep your food cool and bacteria/fungus free? or do you hunt&gather every morning? do you use a cooker to heat your food? or do you collect logs and spark flints to create fire? do you use a fryingpan/saucepan/other container to contain your food while it cooks? or do you spike it on a stick and hang it over your fire? when your food is cooked, do you eat it with the very same hands you wiped your *ahem* on? or do you use a knife and fork in hands that have been 'saved' by toilet roll and a tap with running water?............... do you drive?........ do you own a tin opener........ a tool kit?....... I think I made my point! Using tools is 'good'. tools help make lighter easier work. they aren't cheating aids, and no program like jave will do your ascii art for you. you may prefer to use notepad, it might make you feel like you've accomplished more? but I don't think Jave is cheating, just aiding. Any way...... what do I know! I live in a 21st century house, with modern convieniences, (knowing how to live basic/wild!. Perfering my mod-cons to a cave-and-club!). all the best, (who draws cheerios? They are the worst tasting cerial I know! - but thats only my opinion, Just as drsquare has opinions!) RES.
