You're predictably missing the point, you excuse-making yobbo. The "pitch" may be smaller, but they're on ICE, for chrissake. And they have sticks in their hands. And the players and the puck move many times faster. And the players can legally be knocked about much more than in football. And the goal in football is about 4 times the width of a hockey goal, and twice the height. Change the pitch size and the rules of football if necessary. The point, which you predictably missed, is that most of a football match is just a lot of pointless back-and-forth that results in nil-nil. > > >>typically has >>over 20 shots on goal *per side*, with 30 or more for >>each side not uncommon. >> > > I thought you were just complaining about football being "back-and-forth". > Make your fucking mind up. You pussy poofter. NO ONE defends the way they do in hockey. > There's more to the > game than goals you know. Yes, I do know. There are faked injuries, boring midfield turnovers (100s), and drunken fans literally killing each other. There's more to hockey than goals, too, and you get all of it: passing, defense, blazing speed, and the violence tends to stay on the playing surface, not in the stands. And when the game is over, we just get in our cars and go home. You lot start riots. I have just two words: Heysel Stadium. Tackling football violence Introduction The United Kingdom is perceived by virtually all observers in Europe, and by football fans themselves, as having had the earliest and most most severe problems with football hooliganism. Certainly, it is the only nation to have received a blanket expulsion from all European Football competitions - a ban that was initially made for an indefinite period following the Heysel Stadium tragedy in which 39 Juventus fans died when a wall collapsed after clashes with Liverpool supporters. http://www.sirc.org/publik/fvtackle.html > Maybe football just isn't suited to your > obviously short attention span. That's one of the things that's killing baseball: young people find it too slow. > where they score every couple of seconds.
