Do you have a plan for cheap bastards who hate > the taste of alcohol and don't smoke? If you don't want to spend any money at all there are still lots of options open. Go to a concert with a bunch of friends. But don't go into the concert. Stay in the parking lot and bring any props that you may already own like a camra or a lawn chair. If you bring friends with the right mentality to avoid boredem then fun will be at hand no matter what. > It's not so much fear as it is skepticism. For example, I doubt that > the nice plan you've outlined would get me in touch with any people > I'd actually enjoy talking to. Location location location. Who do you want to talk to? Where do they go when they acutaly go out. Remember that only 3.6% of the population has an IQ above 125. So there is a numbers game aspect to the process. Ren Fairs, Goth Clubs, Mensa meetings (which are often held in public places so you can attend without paying the membership), Conventions of all kinds, &c. You will find people out there that where draged allong to keep a friend company. Seek those people out. Or you have not been taking an active roll in makeing sure that the conversations arn't boring. Sometime the more out there the better. Thus the birth marks questions. One of the nice things about drunk people is that they have less inhabitions and are more likely to answer the questions if you set them up with the proper lead in questions and attitude. > and I really can't see myself talking > to anyone who'd find a person stinking of beer & smoke charming. Like I said, some times people get ropped into going. Study the crowd and find those that are odviously not haveing a good time. On Saturday I went to a place where I knew that some of my friends go even though I had never been there. Last night I found an email in my mail box from one of those fringe people who I started a conversation with. I could spend all my time with people I knew or I could have fun talking to the girl in the wheel chair.
