Thanks. No, no tracing since there is no picture to trace from. Usually I do ASCII pictures straight from `the imagination'. :) Once I tried tracing (see "der blaue Reiter" on my webpage) and when there is a request for an ASCIIfication of a certain motive I try to copy that freehand. Otherwise I draw just as I feel like. I do use Jave though. Mostly to draw a first freehand sketch for getting the proportions right. Then I do the finer bits with Emacs (since Sun's JDK does not work well with a German keyboard I cannot use Jave as a simple editor). Finally I switch back to Jave for moving the picture around a bit or drawing horizons and stuff like that.
