One was a map of the Korean peninsula done in January by Phydeaux, the other a map of Afghanistan done last November by Timofei Shatrov. I emailed Phydeaux first and he referred me to as a source of other maps. Unfortunately, that site's not available by anonymous FTP. I've just written Timofei so I don't expect a response for at least a day. I'm particularly looking for a map of the Philippines; I've been contracted by a friend from church to proofread his book of Korean War memoirs, and the working map he's using is from Expedia and thus copyrighted (and they'd probably want a mint for reuse rights). Does anyone know who "jorn" is so I could contact this person directly? Also, who knows of any other sites of ascii-art (or other) maps which would either be in the public domain or if copyrighted wouldn't be difficult to secure reuse rights? (Or is someone up to the challenge of ascii-arting a map of the Philippines?) Thanks a bunch! --------------------------------------------------------------------------- "JamesDad" (my name is Mike--I'm James' Dad) is a nym I use in honor and memory of my son James Webb (1992-2000), slain in battle fighting leukemia. His story is told on the webpages http://www.themiraclekids.com/james.htm and at http://www.themiraclekids.com/mem-james.htm. He was a greater man at 8 than many ever become. May the message of his life not be forgotten!
