Having seen polls on American news sites, and read the comments on Slashdot (http://slashdot.org/) there were a lot of people saying 'lets annihilate whoever did this'. Admittedly I was reading just after news of the disaster was announced, but if that is representative of the mood of the American population, it will be bad for the country in the long run. My point was that if public pressure causes the USA to rush into retaliation, it will almost certainly start a full scale war.
