I do very few asciimations myself, but I can code Javascript so I might put my hands on the code at some time ( just not now ) I can however see an obvious improvement : Seperate the player in one script and the data in another. This way if you load the player script with an external link and not inline , then by the time the user views a second asciimation the player script will already be cached in memmory and subsequent load time is reduced. And you also save space on your server hosting the player only once instead of 1 time per asciimation.
