It doesn't depend on the newsreader but on the font. However, it seems to be more difficult to do things correctly in MS Outlook Express (lines wrapping; have to select a monospace font as a proportional font, which seems weird). So, choose something else :) I use Forte Agent. But tastes vary. The most important thing for ASCII art is using a fixed-width font and, sometimes, the ability to create and receive long lines.
