I'm still undecided about that .. because you don't see the cursor when you have selected something so it's harder to determine where the char will be written .. and you could count the entire selection as a sort of cursor. > > Oh .. btw I dont like the overwrite cursor .. I think I will implement it. Good idea. I thought of a sort of wizard that created lines for you. Good .. a proof of concept is needed to develop it further. > Ok, for the other comments: I will think about it. I forgot one thing .. I want MY line drawing style in the program too ! VK, Glory and Henry Segerman have theirs in it .. I want mine too. You have already seen it .. The "How to draw ASCII shapes and lines" tutorial. Actually there are two variations to it .. the upper and lower. Quote from the tutorial : " [Sun of directions] My "Sun of directions" It shows my (CeeJay) favourite linestyles The first number is the change in the X value. The second number is the change in the Y value. Note that the lines in the upper half of the sun differs from the ones in the lower half. I prefer the ones in the upper half but there are different lines for different occasions. 1/3 | 1/3 1/2 | | | 1/2 1/1 | | | | | 1/1 3/2 \ `. `. | ,' ,' / 3/2 2/1 \ \ | | | | | / / 2/1 . `. \ `. | | | ,' / ,' , 3/1 `. \ \ | `. | ,' | / / ," 3/1 . `. `. \ `. | | | ,' / ,' ," , 4/1 `-. `. \ \ | | | | | / / ," ,-" 4/1 -._ `-. `. `. \ `. `.|,' ,' / ,' ," ,-" _.- 5/1 `-._ `-. `. \ \ | ||| | / / ," ,-" _.-" 5/1 `--._ `-._ `-. `. `. \ `. ||| ,' / ,' ," ,-" _.-" _.--" 6/1.__ `--._ `-._ `-. `. \ / ," ,-" _.-" _.--" __.6/1 `--.__ `--._ `-._` _____ "_.-" _.--" __.--" 7/1 `--..__ `--.__ `--._ .-' `-. _.--" __.--" __..--" 7/1 --..__ `--..__ `--.__ ,' `. __.--" __..--" __..-- 8/1 ``--..__ `--..__ / _ _ \ __..--" __..--'" 8/1 ``--..__ ; (_) (_) : __..--'" ----------------------- | | ------------------------ ..--''"" : | | ; ""``--.. 8/1 ..--''"" .--''"" \ `.___.' / ""``--. I was also going to point out that the link to the ascii-art FAQ on your webpage is broken, but I was wrong .. it's not broken It's merely that Joans page "have exceeded its allocated data transfer" In other words it used up more bandwidth than Geocities would allow .. most likely because it is so popular. .. and probably also because she likes to adorn the page with lots of graphics and java .. which strike me as a bit out of place since most ascii-artists are minimalists in some form.
