One thing about sail boats which I learned when I was about ten years
old and made the same mistake: the flag goes in the same direction as
the sail!   8-)

(and didn't they "fold" down the entire mast as well as the sail? I
don't recall seeing pictures of viking ships with that H-shaped
consctruction on them...)
