what version of ms-windows are you using ?
i currently have only 'played' with win95,98 & NT4
all of which permit access to the installed fonts
for copy, delete etc.

perhaps you may try copy'n'paste into notepad.exe or sommink ?
of the ascii-art you wish to view ... a pain ... yep

ms-outlook excess does not lent itself very well to e-mail or
usenet posting
altho' checkout setting all your fonts for all activities in
that mailer (which i don't use unless i have to) to courier 
if it lets you (read/send, e-mail/newsgroups and whatever)
till it works

i tried 'ms-outlook excess v5' for a while but haven't tried
v6 so i really don't know what it will allow

perhaps some other readers of this newsgroup using the same
mailer will share their 'setup info' with you if they know
how to make it work for ascii-art properly

BTW ... why do you want to copy that font (lucida console)
if you already have it installed ?
