Um, I think that the developer would be the best to join the competition. 
When the converter is available to other people than one can easily check
if the result was possible with that program afterwards.

Well, that's in favour of Jave of course. Other people have to modify it
before - at least contrast and such things. In my opinion the modified
picture should be shown as well but without modification most converters 
don't make sense.
