Yes, you're missing a whole lot.  I see from your headers that you're
using Microsoft Lookout Express as your newsreader.  The best solution
is to switch to Forte Agent or even Netscape Communicator.

In the meantime, select all the text in the message and change the font
to Courier New.  (I don't remember how to change the default font, or
even if it's possible.)

ASCII art, like all plain text files, is best viewed with a monospaced
font, as that is the only kind of font guaranteed to be available on any
computer terminal ever made.
