I have to use it for mail on my University's shell account (ok, there's always mail, but that's something from the stone ages IMHO), and I *really* miss gnus there... but for news? I don't know. Even tin might be better - and I hate that one... But well, whatever. With software, as with everything, beauty lies in the eye of the beholder... Does pine at least do decent threading by now? That's what *really* put me off in the first place.
