Great. Also I have already fixed some (more or less) minor problems. > but as usual have a lot of suggestions. As always :-) > Having tried the program just 20 minutes .. > > I was thinking it should have a better import of bitmaps. The problem is that I need a library with a licence that fits my freeware licence. Open source will not work - nor will commercial licences. GIF and JPG are the most popular file formats - and there are a lot of freeware converters available. Also in future Java JREs there will be libraries available for other file formats. So this topic has very low priority for me. > Feltpen : I know exactly what you mean with feltpen .. but I'm not sure that > feltpen is an acurate english word .. works fine in danish though. In my dictionary it is "felt tip(ped) pen" or "felt tip". Great! This is one of those nasty problems nobody finds - nobody but a user without (or with?) the intention of finding it. Thanks, I have fixed it. > Back to feltpen .. Maybe it will be in JavE3.1 or so - depending on the amount of time I have the next weeks and months... > The shade can be set not only to the differnt shades but also between them and > to blank. > In between them means that dithering should be used .. maybe even several > dithering steps could be used .. f.x 2 parts 8 and one part $. I will consider that as soon as I receive a multithreaded JavaScript player for JMOVs and a better algorithm for ellipses :) > Text/selection works great .. except when you sometimes click a area with > selection on and it tries to select the outline of what you clicked instead of > switching to the text tool. That's a bug - not a feature. I Will try to fix it. A double click should auto-select a region, a single click should put the cursor there. > Consider making the 2 tools 1 .. with the same icon too. Maybe in JavE4.0. But someone has to provide me an icon that describes this tool. > The "brush" tool looks very much like the feltpen , maybe the feature of > defining your own brush should be added to the tools that use the feltpen too .. > The preview field could change to be editable. Does anybody actually use these two features at the same time? How many people do use only one of those features? It is low priority I think. > maybe > even with togglebutton that toggles the display of text. For the moment you can toggle to an empty document (using Ctrl-N and then Ctrl-Tab). > I would like the opertunity to drag and move auxilary points i have already set > and have the lines adjust acordingly. Em - you can do that. Just switch from "Draw lines" to "Edit lines". You can move lines and you can move points. You also can delete lines (context menu on right mouse button - the first context menu at all...). I wonder when the first one asks for custom colors for those lines. This is the feature I think of as most important for them... > A wizard to quickly let you choose between some common vanishing points and > "scenes" (made with auxilary lines) Hey, I do not want to carry it too far (I know I already did). > Also delete in overwrite mode moves one step forward .. only space should do > that Ok. > And btw .. I too think there should a color option in JavE .. for ANSI and HTML > coloring .. maybe even for ZZT screens ( http://zzt.org/ ) > the ZZT lovers would also love to be able to draw in the standard DOS font. I have discussed the colors some weeks ago. As far as I remember it was in this group. Shall I post my arguments once again? They did not change: No colors. > Figlet font export assistent is broken Thanks, fixed. > so is fractals ?? Not mine. Well, can someone tell me what characters I have to take care of (e.g. ") and what I have to do to code them right for the .bat? > You could make your own text-art bootlogo for most OS's including DOS , Windows > (the ones with DOS) and your favorite Unix platform Will the *.bat work with unix shells, too? Or do I have to take care of other characters there? I don't have time to research all that on my own.
