Not really similar to Ascii Art. More like painting with predefined
symbols -  or like a collage.

To my knowledge only the AOL based macros are that kind of thing. They
use Arial I believe. Of course that's the dark side of ASCII, so I
don't go there and cannot recommend good links. ;)
