I have seen that the danish perl discussion group monitor the group for new posters and when a newbie posts in the group they are automaticly sent the FAQ . .and then added to the list of known posters so you only see this welcome message once. I would be a nice feature if new posters here would recieve the mini-faq as a welcome. And as already started by Timofei someone should calculate the ascii-art to text ratio.
