Some fonts show the ~ near the top in a row like f.x. the " char , while others show it in the middle of the row like the - char. Some of the ascii's on the webpage that Henry Segerman mentioned in the post "Classsic ascii pics" are all shown on my computer with ~ in the center of the row like - , but were clearly designed to be displayed near the top. This is very obvious on the map of the world - ascii. I tend to avoid using ~ or I only use it in situations were either way ( top or center placement ) would look fine. - CJ -- Si hoc legere scis, nimis eruditionis habes. :)
