The downside is that one then has to go public in >the newsgroups...and...be more careful what you say. :-) I have only recently (past few months) been using a spam block so if you had found my addr. in your archives probably would not have bounced. (Had I been posting more frequently you may have easily found it :) ) It's hardly a chore though, to delete .nospam (or whatever) from an address if mailing someone, it's a pretty obvious spam-blocker. Perhaps it's too obvious as I'm still getting loads of junkmail :( >However, I readily confess to being a Diddler of other people's artwork. This, I have noticed. And I don't object to you doing it either, I have done it myself. But only as long as it's a cosmetic diddle (which it virtually always is). But, in this case your diddle gave the pic a whole lot of *meaning* in the context it was posted, left with my sig on it. >As a Diddler who has done a diddle it is then always difficult to >know what to do about accreditation. I agree. It is the perculiar nature of ascii-art that makes it easy to change a pic (or an 'artist work' as some would have it :) ) and repost it. And just how much of a change makes it a different pic? Impossible to answer... >Sometimes I leave the original intact ( as in your case ) because it >seemed a minor diddle to move the flag down to half-mast with no >other change. Minor *cosmetic* diddle :) >Sometimes I use "After/DrS" to indicate a diddle. > >Sometimes I use "DrS/A. Yeah, something like one of the first 3 would have been better. I think what would have been best is if you had let me know what you were planning beforehand, but as you said, you looked for my addr. and couldn't find it, so there we are. >Now...the crunch question is what do you want me to do to make >amends for my misdemeanour with your Welsh Flag ? > >Post an apology to every newsgroup in which my compilation of >flags as a tribute to Princess Diana has been posted over the >past few days ? > >Perhaps " Original picture of Welsh Flag by Dr S...lowered to >half-mast by cfbd " ? Thanks. I'm sorry that it had to be in public, but you sort of brought that on yourself :) Let's consider the matter closed...shake? ;) ___..__ __..--""" ._ __.'
