I just posted this one week ago, the topic was "Software for generating ASCII
art ???", but here goes again:

The URL for the GIFscii program I was referring to earlier (converts GIF to
ASCII) is available at ftp://ftp.wwa.com/pub/Scarecrow/Gifscii/

Other good ASCII/ANSI editing tools are available at
http://artpacks.acid.org/programs/editors
