Am I missing something here?? Your pictures just show that
you did NOT manage to put the 'cubes' together in a way 
similar to the ascii pic above. Try harder. ;)
This might not be impossible but it certainly is for three
identical cubes.

BTW beware of the differences between the 'isometric projection'
and a photo!
