Newsgroups: alt.ascii-art I'm posting to the group just in case anyone else cares to know... CAUTION: Do NOT attempt to do this w/out first making a backup copy of the startup screen! Right. The Win95 startup screen is a bitmap, 320x400 pixels large. You can find it in C:\ under the name Logo.sys Change that filename. (if you don't know how to do that, don't mess around with it-- you'll probably just mess up your compuer) ANY image, as long as it is a 320x400 pixel bitmap, can be used as a startup screen. So... find the image you want to use, stretch it to that size (be aware that it will look sort of funny in the editor-- it gets stretch horizontally when actually used) and save it as C:/Logo.sys You can also change the two shutdown screens. They're C:\Windows\Logow.sys (the "please wait while your computer shuts down..." and C:\Windows\Logos.sys ("It is now safe to turn off your computer...") Good luck!
