They are primarily found on the island of Madagascar. They are typified by their long tails, large eyes, and aboreal habits, although many (such as the large ring-tailed lemur) spend much of their life on the ground. Many of the more interesting species of lemurs are also nocturnal. For a more detailed lecture, you can call or write me. I suggest, though, that you just try picking up a book. Finding information on lemurs should be an easy thing to do, and I have give up teachin' and educatin'. Good luck, with learnin' bout them lemurs. JRO
