You just opened a can of worms! =o) Erm, firstly what is the name of this "external e-mail reader" secondly, yes it is probably something to do with fixed fonts, but on your end. Thirdly, e-mail works on different levels, 7Bit, 8Bit, Mime and others. If all else fails. You could always resort to uuencoding the picture and getting the user on the other end to view it via a text editor. Although that would be pretty naff and a very useless way of doing it.
