The Mandarin pronunciation is something like "waw eye knee" -- that
would be _wo ai ni_ in Pinyin romanization, _wo3 ai4 ni3_ with the
tones shown -- so the sound seems unrelated. _Wo3_ is "I," _ai4_ is
"love," and _ni3_ is "you."
