About 5,000+ University of Washington students and staff use Lynx. So if you don't care about many of your student viewers then go for the gifs! Also there are many 9600 baud modems out there and they don't like long loading gifs either. It will probably be 30 years until the US is gif friendly but then ascii-art will really be in demand in the outlying areas of the net. As far as the broken gif tile thing Joan mentioned. I have gotten about 6 of them which means it is very rare for me. Lastly, I think the original poster said something like "ascii-art in Monaco font". Errrr there is no such thing technically. Unless it is a font like Terminal or Courier. Maybe it is, I can't find Monaco on my computer anywhere. Is there a web site to get it? Take care, Jon Melusky > And just a > thought- I've had occasional problems with getting GIFs to load at all. > Many times I get that broken tile thing.
