Add those together and it's 'impossible'. You might
say that this is not what you see but - funny as it
is - that's what I first saw in PS's pictures.

While you assumed line 1* is hidden behind the front 
plate and connected to the lower left corner, my eyes
would like to see it connected to the upper right.

This is also an illusion and I hope we don't need cameras or 
boxes to prove it. But there's nothing wrong with it, only
that it provides a picture our brains cannot hangle properly.
