A .gif image is a picture, like what you will find on the Internet.  Special
things about .gif images as opposed to other pictures are that they can be
transparent (their background color matches the background color of what's
behind it.. like a chameleon...) or they can be animated (moving around..
like the pictures on my web page <g, blatant plug>)

What the poster of the original message seems to have done is reinvent the
gifscii wheel... Hm.  If it comes up with better images than gifscii, then I
won't complain.. but refusing to tell us where it is? that's naughty.

Of course, if it actually IS gifscii, and he just found it, and thinks we
don't know about it, then he's got another think coming. <g>
