Once for all. This is what I use in the FAQ on my site : --- In the case of rec.arts.ascii, the moderator was Bob Allison (otherwise known as `Scarecrow'), and he retired from the job in June 1996. The newsgroup was inactive from December 1996 until November 1997. Don Bertino (bertino@netcom.com) is at the helm as moderator. Post away. --- and that's exactely what you find on Joan's site too. (Unfortunately you won't find that at the other site, but that's another story.) There will be different versions of course. You cannot force people to update their FAQ version, so there'll be a lot 'old' versions around. We should make sure that we 'agree' on changes and that there is ONE official version somewhere. No problem so far, since there IS an official version: The one Colin posts regularely. > As i guess the most important one is the one that i post > here every few days,In so much as that the one posted is the one > targeted for newbie reader ship,I am trying to make sure it passes the > oldie test. Well, I would not say 'most important' if you talk about changes. Accuracy is not vital. > Joan, who maintains the faq in severel(<--yes im a bad > speller) other places on the net,In a effort to school newbies even b4 > they get here,Will be fustrated, im sure,By all these "minor" changes > you all are demanding. As far as I know, Joan is aware of all minor changes someone demanded. I have the feeling that you missed something here and you are frustrated. ;) Maintaining a FAQ includes a lot of effort. Maybe you'd better just decide where you'll copy the right version and post that. I'd suggest - again - Colin's posts. In a way it's still Matthew's FAQ after all and he should be involved in major changes. Maybe he even wants to do all the work.
