I'm not a regular to this group, and a relative newbie, I'm sure, as compare to others here (and certainly not as skilled), but I am an artist in other mediums (including commercial applications) so I'll give you my opinion on this whole credit and intials thing. 1) Everyone should try to give credit where credit is due...which is all Joan was trying to do. 2) If someone's art is commissioned (whether payment of any kind is exchanged or not) I should think that it would be perfectly alright for the commissioner to ASK if they could remove any initials or signature or whatever on the art. 3) If someone's art is posted in the public domain with initials or signature or whatever...those should be left on unless specific permission is given by the artist to remove them! All it takes is the little common courtesy of ASKING, and everything's probably A-OK with everyone. This specific issue is not really related to my 3 points above, however...the art was specifically taken from someone elses' e-mail signature, modified, and reposted as the stealer's signature...that was not right - Joan was pointing it out. Ignore the thread if you don't like the subject. There... I said it. (e-mailed copies of posted responses welcome...see my sig...but don't steal it! ;o) Spunk1111 wrote: > > In article <33F92010.B9229D21@ix.netcom.com>, "Tom R. Earlywine I bet the main reason the police keep people away from a plane crash is they don't want anybody walking in and lying down in some crash stuff, then, when somebody comes up, act like they just woke up and go, "What was THAT?!" ___________________________________________________________________ NOTE: Remove ".nospam" from my address when replying by mail.
