Display is a freeware viewer / converter that'll convert *any* image format with any colour depth into an ascii or ansi image. Remember to resize the image to 79 pixels first so you get a 79 character wide ascii file that'll fit on screen. You'll probably need to do some work by hand afterwards, as Display doesn't use a great variety of characters for the rendering, but that's the story with any converter.
