I said the way to handle it was to report them to their ISPs. There were 4 spams in this newsgroup yesterday. I reported all of them last night. This morning I had 2 reponses already; I have posted them here with the permission of the System Administrators who wrote them. For those of you who were curious about what Israelis would do, please note they do the same thing the major ISPs here do: same procedure, same rules. It is really important to "spread the word" on how much trouble people can into for spamming. I am particularly annoyed about spam in this group because it is so attractive to children (I mean the actually under-18 group as opposed to those of us who aren't completely grown-up in spite of being many years past that number). Young people in the USA can get into serious trouble over spamming; in some other countries, the rules are much more harsh and enforced without mercy. High school and college students get suspended from or kicked out of their schools and so on. The responses to my complaints follow: Diane -- >From pixel8ed@netcom.com Wed Sep 25 06:19:49 1996 Return-Path: Received: from ccxor.technion.ac.il (qmailr@ccxor.technion.ac.il [132.68.1.14]) by netcom18.netcom.com (8.6.13/Netcom) id GAA18608; Wed, 25 Sep 1996 06:07:36 -0700 Received: (qmail 12580 invoked by uid 62); 25 Sep 1996 13:05:59 -0000 Date: Wed, 25 Sep 1996 15:05:59 +0200 (EET) From: Oved Ben-Aroya To: Diane Wenner Subject: Re: SPAM (fwd) Easy,Legal Way to Earn 50K in a MONTH!!!
