                     GIANT KITE  -  The Megabite
                     ============================

Constructed by Peter Lynn of Ashburton, New Zealand, the kite is 55
metres long and 22 metres wide and weighs 150 kg. It is modelled on
a Tribolite pre-historic animal which it imitates by "swimming" in
the air.

Megabite, worth NZ$ 45,000, needs for safety two 30 ton trucks to
anchor the kite to the ground and a team of experts to get it airborne.
