  Not true.  Spot has been the mascot for awhile now, doing such things as 
draining the "cola" out of regular cola to make the Uncola, a.k.a. "7Up".  
Fido Dido is much older...and truth be known, I always thought he was the 
mascot for Slice, not 7UP.

  anyway, we know that Spot is the mascot because of all those stuffed toys of 
him and his spot-like brethren.
