I think David Issel drew this one:

I have seen bells shaped like both of these.

Personally, I try to avoid using the tilde "~" when I can, 
(it's usually too heavy) so I would do this:

    (___)
    /   \
   /     \
 _/_______\_
(___________)
     (@)

I tried giving yours a more rounded shape like David's, but then
it started to look like a stocking cap!
