Yes but rec.arts.ascii is a moderated newsgroup and if you add a moderated newsgroup to a newsgroups line your posting will not get to any of the other groups if the moderator fails to action your posting when he/she receives it. In that event your posting will not reach any of the newsgroups you have nominated or which are listed in a posting to which you might be doing a follow-up. Hmm...I wonder what happens if you have TWO or more moderated groups in your newsgroups line. Presumably it goes to each moderator in some sort of newsgroup sequence until each moderator has given it the OK. This is the disadvantage to cross-posting where moderated groups are involved. Also if your access site does not carry all of the groups you have included in your newsgroups line your posting will not appear in the excluded newsgroups. Usually you get a warning on your screen at posting time to say that certain newsgroups you have selected are invalid at your site. You may not see this warning if you are not posting interactively.
