Haavard Fosseng (haavardf@fys.uio.no) previously posted instructions about how
to switch to overwrite mode from emacs. Since the Vt340 has no meta key or
escape key, an alternative method must be used to switch to overwrite mode.
Haavard gave me directions for use with emacs on a vt340. They are:
