PC software like Windows and some Unix software can deal with extended Ascii characters, but unlike the standard Ascii characters that you get on the keyboard, different computers display extended characters in different ways. More importantly, many systems simply can't display them and just crash or bomb out. Stick to the standard characters, particularly as the picture above looked better than the one I deleted!
