Hey, if people want more product they have to pay more price!

Taking a look at 300+ alt.ascii-art postings currently on this server gives:

  105  Requests for art
   80  Talk/chat/discussion
   36  Art reposts (including gif converts)
   26  Requests for sig helps (Scarecrow was one!)
   26  New Gif conversions
   25  New hand-drawn ascii pics
   12  Sig's ("post your sigs here")
   11  Off-subject (nazi, for-sale, etc.)
    2  FAQ postings
    2  Animations
    3  Figlet fonts

So, grouping Sigs', new ascii, and new Gifs, there were some 63 new (to me)
bits of ascii art.  It continues to be a steady stream of production
that has been accumulated into the wealth of stuff available today.

Gif conversions tend to run in spurts - someone opens up their brand-new
program copy and goes to work.  Several hours later they post their 'best'
stuff - yup, it really looks muddy compared to hand-drawn art.  On the other
hand it seems to fill a gap in providing pics of stuff nobody is drawing,
like celebrity faces.  And as I always tell Gifscii users: Don't post anything
that isn't great!  (but do post everything that is).  Some of Gifscii's most
interesting features I have yet to see posted - like edge-detection which
adds a 3-dimensional effect to the pic.  Just type 'H' to get a complete
command list.

What is the proper pronounciation of 'GIF'?  Who cares?  With the information
super-highway in place who needs to communicate with their mouth anymore; 
think about it - it's gross!
