After a while it gets annoying to constanly look at/erase the same sig. This applies to E-mail. One colleague of mine sends me an average of 8 E-mails a day, each with the same damm 5 line sig, EVERY time. First, or second time mailing,s its always great to include a silly sig...after that it gets quite annoying. I ask of everyone, if you post a lot or if you are in corespondence w/ someone often, have the decency to write a script that at least changes your .signature every day. Or leave it small. With all this wonderful asci art going around it would rather easy to to have a great, different, signature just about every day of the year!! I wrote a quick "C" program that put in a different assci image to the motd every day.. right now I have 50 files to choose from (randomly) and it keeps growing. Every enjoys the variety. To do the same with a .signature file could be done easily with a script that is executed at login. If you dont know how to write a script ect, post here and I am sure plenty of people would be willing to donate examples. Here is the sig I use for people I corespond with once a week.. -Amato- Here is the one that I use on daily corespondence -p- I have many silly ones I sometimes toss in for variety. Some of the sigs I have seen so many times via E-mail they are pretty much burned into to my monitor, my mind and even my dreams. Any one else share these feelings or am I the odd man out? ltr -p-
