Why not just output the results of figlet to a textfile? Do 'figlet -f whatever > output.txt' and anything you type into figlet will be outputted to that file. Make sure you end your input with Ctrl-Z (^Z) though. Hope that helps.. Also, I thought the fonts figlet made WERE ascii.
