What I don't get is this part:

    \\ \
    // /
    \\/

It doesn't appear to be of the same "dotty" style as the rest, and I
just can't figure out what it is...

The eyes are obvious (glasses?), and I can see the shape of the head and
the ear. The neck and one shoulder are clear, but the nose and mouth
just don't come through somehow...
