I used the unix 'compress' command to compress each of these animations, because they take up, on avarage, about a tenth of the space that way. To uncompress them, use the command 'uncompress'. There is, however, a way to view them in the compressed format, and that is by using 'zcat' instead of 'cat'. The advantage of this is that you can leave them compressed on your system. If you need to slow them down, type: zcat | cat -u where is the name of the animation, such as 'bambi.vt.Z' The '.Z' indicates that the file has been compressed using the 'compress' command. Obviously, the posted files need to be uudecoded before any of this. To do this, type: uudecode where is the name that you gave the post when you saved it. Some newsreaders, such as tin, allow you to uudecode a post automaticly when you save it. Sorry about the confusion. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jake Patterson "...You'll see my teeth in the stars above..." jpatters@moose.uvm.edu -TMBG --------------------------------------------------------------------------
