Sword collection: It is almost impossible to document swords because they are so often used as .sigs; therefore, there may be many slight permutations of the same basic sword. Often I write to people to ask them if they are the artist who drew their .sig; it is very rare that the answer is "yes" unless the person is a *known* ascii artist. Back in the days when knights were young, dragons were old, and I was first on the net, I was told that one MUST have a .sig that one had made oneself. For years I didn't have one because I have no talent when it comes to drawing. Finally I played with various ideas for several weeks. I still have a whole file of failed attempts to prove it. I am not thrilled with my present one--which is why you see it change all the time. [Also, I'm a 'jazz person'; I can't stand to keep doing anything the same way all the time.] How long did it take me? From the time I was first on the net until I developed the .sig was about 8 years. If you want to know if a particular sword "belongs" to the person who posted it, you will have to write to them yourself. I have included the names and comments of the collectors who were kind enough to post art they documented either by saying they were the artist or they weren't.
