 Yes. We have accepted that OJ is only symbolically real, and, as such, as
 a man with no flesh or blood, as a cartoon, we can be entertained abstractly
 by the various horrible things which happen to him. I refuse to allow
 myself to consider even for a second how he must be feeling right *this*
 second. I am comfortable imagining him in a car chase, sitting holding a
 gun to his head, like some CBS Monday Night Movie.

 It is this type of detachment of human qualities from the image of a man
 which is behind the argument that kids today are more ready to kill because
 killing, which they have seen a million times on TV, has no meaning at
 all, no repercussion, no impact. Shooting someone is, as I have said
 before, like using the remote control to change the channel.
