104:52) Danny O'Bedlam Date: 15-MAR-94 10:47 This past Sunday afternoon I visited the Yellow Trains, those FUCKING YELLOW trains in their hiding place. As I posted previously, many of the Yellow trains live at the 38th St yards in Brooklyn. this is just south of Greenwood Cemetary (no coincidence), and west of Ft Hamilton Pkwy. The yards are actually bounded by 37th St (north), Jackie Gleason Bus depot (west) - 5th avenue, and 39th St (south). Fastest way there by train, is the B to 9th avenue. I biked there on my way home from visiting my friends further south in Bklyn. since I had the time I figured I would visit the Yellow trains. As I approached I did not see the Yellow trains at first. Its not that they were hiding, they were, of course, at home. The street I was on was 2-way, and I was on the side away from the yard. There is practically no sidewalk there, and lots of trash (no relation) and broken glass. Nevertheless, I went closer. Now the best viewing spot for all of the Yellow trains is actually above the station at 9th avenue. you can easily view both the yards and maintenance facilities from there. Not only were there many Yellow trains there on sunday but some were coupled with non-Yellow trains. I could only take so much - I sped home on my bike in the knowledge that the Yellow trains would not follow me. - - - - - .
