 I feel so out of it. I missed the low speed chase at the time, & I'm just
 now catching up on this item.

 My feeling upon hearing about that bizarre chase scene was that it was
 very much like a Greek tragedy: the hero, suffering from a fatal flaw,
 commits a horrible crime, and is pursued (down the freeway in this case)
 by the avenging furies, while the chorus (or our version of it, the media)
 keeps up a running commentary. And I guess Twang and Ann and everyone else
 online that night were part of the chorus. Of course, it's kind of a
 cheesy, TV- reality show version of a Greek tragedy, but it's exactly the
 same story people were riveted by 2500 years ago in Athens. And we're
 still riveted by it.
