 Yes, xue, he transcends race - that is, until it comes to choosing the
 jury.  You can be sure that race, and doubtless tales of childhood abuse,
 will be part of the defense and the probable insanity plea.
    In the classical definition of tragedy, the central figure must be a
 hero of some sort, but I doubt that was what Newsday meant in the headline
 that Jonathan mentioned. Yes, disgusting to call it a tragedy, because OJ
 has been a craven coward not a hero for a long, long time. That's what
 wife beaters are, craven cowards. The only decent thing OJ Simpson could
 have done is to have blown his brains out right after he committed this
 heinous crime. That would have been classical tragedy.
