 I don't believe Al Cowlings will be prosecuted.  If it weren't for Al
 Cowlings, OJ would be dead.  Police are *pissed" at him because one does
 not defy the LAPD here in LA.  Disrespect of the police is most provocative
 crime here, not murder.

 No jury would convict Al. he told the police where they were going; he
 slowed down so they could clear the onramps and traffic would be safer. He
 negotiated between OJ and them so that OJ wouldn't use the gun.

 I suspect that he wouldn't talk to them without an attorney, so they
 arrested him.  Well, they *had* to arrest him.  There was a warrant. But
 they *didn't* have to go on and on about how he interfered with the
 negotiations when we could all see what he was trying to do. He was trying
 to remain the sane, underreacting person in the mess.

 The DA will be foolish if he doesn't dismiss charges soon.  He can put him
 on probation as a plea bargain, but  he shouldn't put him through a trial.
 He's been through his trial.
